Abby Vail is an author drawn to the macabre. Her work ranges from whimsically spooky middle grade to dark adult horror. Her novella, WRITHE, released in October and her middle grade novel, Bad Manor, will be releasing June 8th, 2027 with Sley House Publishing.

Like many horror lovers, Abby grew up on Goosebumps and was engrossed in watching Michael Myers slash his way through Halloween without knowing just how big an impact those stories would have in her adult life.

A bassist for about sixteen years, she started out in an original rock band, Just Blush, moved on to funky solo bass performances, and now enjoys playing in a metal tribute band. In addition, she’s the singer/songwriter for Safe Sermon. Abby lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, three children, and two dogs.

And maybe a ghost.
